I originally made the McCalls dress, short with long sleeves. Last year I was attending FestAfrica and wanted something vibrant to wear, but had zero time to sew anything. I quickly removed the sleeves and added a piece of leftover fabric to the hem-look closely, you may see the join. A beautiful maxi dress was born. The Simplicity, I made in May. I needed something to wear after the hafla, and again, I had no time. This dress went together so quickly. I didn't line nor hem it. There wasn't any time. But I think it worked out fine. I wore it again on Father's day, and received lots of compliments. I will definitely make this dress again.
