Why not? Looks better than most of the plastic encased newfangled machines. Why not provide a visual cue to function? I avoided computerized machines for years, and there are still things I want my mechanical machines for. but I will no longer run screaming in the opposite direction when shown a computerized sewing machine.
And it sews great too, I think it's an awesome piece of history celebrating Singer's 160th anniversary. The first machine I bought was a Singer Stylist in th mid 70s!

My husband just pointed out this to me on JoAnn Fabric's site. Their's doesn't come in stock until next month. I think I may have to get one.
