Butterick 5247 & McCall's 5485

I made up the dress Sunday morning to wear that afternoon. In my haste I didn't think about the length since the photo shows the garment at knee length. Well, it came about two inches above my knees. I debated whether I wanted to turn it into a tunic or top. But I was determined to have a dress. So, I cut it about two inches below my bust and inserted the black knit. Now I love it. 'll sew this again. But I want to deepen the cowl.

The coat pattern is OOP. I made this from a tweedy sweater knit I had purchased at Hancocks a while ago. The sweater coat is loose fitting, and has a shawl collar, front princess seams and long sleeves.
When I sew this again, I'll make it longer and the collar bigger so I have a hood.

Both of these are stunning. Given that I am on a red and black kick at the moment, both of these would slot right into my wardrobe! Very flattering and very sexy!!
