Take this poll

What is your internal age? How far is it from your chronological age? How does your internal age influence your style choices?
Sally at Already Pretty has this poll going on. I thought it interesting as today is my 48th birthday. I'm still waiting to feel/understand what is to be 40 or 40 something. Now I've got 50 lurking in the shadows. Twenty years ago, 48-50 meant (at least to me) that you were old and decrepit. You know, one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Beginning in my 30's, my style choices became less conservative. Thankfully, there are very few times in my life right now that I need to dressed conservatively. I don't wear jeans. I own neither an LBD, a white shirt nor a trenchcoat. I am finally okay with my style. Besides being a seamtress gives me the advantage of being a chameleon, so I've added a pair of jeans, the LBD and a trenchcoat to my sewing list.

Well, Happy Birthday!!!

From what I've seen on your blog, you have fabulous style, and I am sure that a pair of jeans, LBD, and trenchcoat will do nothing to tarnish that image. :)

My birthday is next month and I've been thinking a lot and talking with a couple friends recently about "aging gracefully" and "dressing your age". Rather than spill my guts here, I might have to write a separate post for that.....

Happy birthday! Your post intrigues me, as I am fast approaching 47 and wondering how I got here. Like you, I have become less conservative as I get older. Just this week I had one of those moments where I realised that this is IT. If I don't do what I want and become what I want now, I will miss my chance. I agree with Antoinette, you are a very stylish woman!

Happy Birthday Beautiful! I remember when I thought 30 was old! (i'm 32) I am definitely starting to "relax" & be "me" after seeing my mom turn 50 last year. It made me realize 50 is a wonderful age. I still feel kind of "lost" but seeing what I have to look forward to and knowing other fabulous 40 & 50 year old reminds me to enjoy every moment & take care of myself!

Happy Birthday {yesterday!} Hope it was fabulous! I was just wondering when I was actually going to feel "30's" ...it's nice {or totally unsettling ..lol} to know that this is a reality regardless of age. Or maybe it just means you're young at heart!

Thank you for following my blog. I exactly feeling the same as you concerning my age; I'll be 48 in December.
And I still have the feeling of not expressing what's deep inside me.
This year seems to be a turn in my life, I decided to sew back again. It has always been my passion but I never took it seriously. Today I am staying at home and I am determemined to develop my passion, ignoring the inner voice in me that says it will lead me nowhere. I am fed up of looking for a decent job that doesn't suits my personality.
