Dreams Really Do Come True!

Wow! We live in interesting times. Many years ago, when I arrived in this country on the QE2 filled with hope, my parents told me that I am not defined by the colour of skin or my gender. But others would do so. That lack of knowledge is no excuse to be ignorant of others feelings. And my feelings would be hurt on many occasions because of fear, misunderstandings, etc. They told me to remember that many had paved the way for me and anything I desire can be had with hard work and perseverance as long as I maintained my faith in a higher power and acted with integrity. They told me that in this country all things are possible.
Over the decades that speech would be tested time and time again. This election is a testament that maintaining the course despite the odds, remaining purposeful in your goals, conducting yourself with calm integrity in the face of adversity, dreams really do come true. Yes, there is a lot of work to be done. But unified, all things are possible. Change is good. It may be uncomfortable at times, but that means we are growing. I'd like to thank all of you who voted yesterday, whatever your affiliation.
